My God–the world has changed Old norms are past It’s values and high principles Have fallen fast Technology and modern thought New doctrine Religion that decries Thy word as nought At school they mock My love for Thee The narrow way They will not see I seem so much alone To stand ‘against the tide’ Between my fellows, friends The gap grows wide I long to bring them Back to Thee But they are blind They will not see My child, I see thee Struggling there I know thy tears I watch with care Abide with Me My word devour Lean hard on Me Receive My power If thou but stand And do not sway Thy friends will bless thee Judgment day Though broken cisterns They through you Will find their God If you stand true. |
