Oh, innumerable the masses People everywhere Full of burdens, full of stresses Loaded down by care Men are passing on unheeded To a lost eternity Nought to stop them, nought to warn them Of their hopeless destiny! Thou, O child of God, commissioned In this world to shine–a light In this world to be a beacon Beaming forth in sins dark night Why the beacon sadly failing? Why the candle ever dim? Lo the people go unheeding Nought to turn their hearts from sin! All around the light is fading Child of God, hear people cry As they meet their God and Maker No-one said–“Prepare to die!” ‘Tis an awesome pledge God gave thee Beacon for the world to see Pure and holy, always pointing To the Lord to set men free Oh innumerable the masses People everywhere Full of burdens, full of stresses Loaded down by care Men are passing on unheeded To a lost eternity Will you stop them? Will you warn them? Point the lost to Calvary. |
