Is your joy lost, weary pilgrim Has it fled far from your heart Can it be dark sin that’s lurking Making sweet joy to depart Is there a love that is hidden Secret and cloistered within E’en though your feet have not stumbled In thoughts, your heart has there been Has envy entered the vineyard Measuring you at a loss Letting you forget the pathway Christ took that led to the cross Sin robs sweet joy of her savour Sin turns her into alloy Sin keeps the heart in depression Sin is in satan’s employ Seek God, dear child, in repentance Find His forgiveness for you Joy will return in it’s fullness He will your sad heart renew |
